Adria Rebecca Mendes
Born and raised in a small town thirty minutes North of Boston, Massachusetts, I am a Junior at Syracuse University, working towards a dual degree in Political Philosophy and Law, Society, & Policy at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs with a minor in Religion.
My professional background includes internships with the Syracuse University Office of Financial Literacy and the New England Joint Board UNITE HERE non-profit union organization.
On campus, I serve as a Financial Literacy Peer Counselor at the Syracuse University Office of Financial Literacy. Syracuse University’s Office of Financial Literacy helps students and alums build confidence in managing their finances. They aim to shift financial thinking from short-term survival to long-term planning through inclusive, trauma-informed support. They offer peer counseling, workshops, and practical tools covering budgeting, credit, and student loans. The office also hosts campus events to promote financial wellness and long-term success.
I look forward to exploring new paths and contributing in ways that create lasting value!
